Information presented by Shoalwater may be based on property-owner information, site observations, plans and drawings, roof or impervious-area measurements, installation records, equipment specifications, rainfall information, municipal records, contractor documentation, hydrologic assumptions, calculations, modeling, photographs, and third-party datasets.

The source and level of verification may differ by project.

Modeled & Estimated Performance

Unless expressly identified as directly measured or independently verified, figures relating to gallons managed, runoff retained, storage capacity, infiltration, contributing drainage area, rainfall capture, discharge reduction, water performance, basin attribution, or portfolio-level outcomes may be calculated or modeled estimates.

Actual performance may differ due to rainfall timing and intensity, soil conditions, infiltration rates, system configuration, maintenance, overflow behavior, property modifications, equipment condition, data availability, user behavior, and other site-specific factors.

Measurement & Verification

Terms such as measured, modeled, documented, verified, and validated should be interpreted according to the methodology and evidence applicable to the individual project.

Shoalwater does not represent modeled results as direct physical measurements where direct measurement has not occurred.

Where third-party verification is stated, the scope of that verification is limited to the work actually reviewed by that party.

Infrastructure Performance

Green stormwater infrastructure is affected by environmental and physical conditions over time.

Past, modeled, rated, or anticipated performance does not guarantee identical future performance. Maintenance, inspection, repair, operation, and changing site conditions can materially affect results.

Site Plans & Concepts

Unless expressly identified otherwise, conceptual layouts, site plans, renderings, diagrams, photographs, and project concepts presented by Shoalwater are intended for planning, communication, or illustrative purposes.

They should not be treated as stamped engineering drawings, architectural plans, surveys, construction documents, or regulatory approvals unless expressly provided as such by an appropriately qualified party.

Rebates & Public Programs

Shoalwater may work with or reference public programs, utilities, rebates, incentives, municipalities, and other funding mechanisms.

Eligibility, funding availability, reimbursement, inspection, approval, and continued participation are controlled by the applicable program administrator—not Shoalwater.

Corporate Water Stewardship

Shoalwater may support organizations seeking localized water-stewardship, replenishment, resilience, or nature-based outcomes.

Whether a project, methodology, volume, or activity may be reported toward a corporate target, disclosure, replenishment commitment, stewardship objective, or other claim depends on the applicable organization's requirements and relevant reporting methodology.

Shoalwater does not guarantee acceptance of any calculated outcome by a corporation, auditor, assurance provider, reporting platform, standard-setting organization, investor, regulator, or other third party.

Standards & Frameworks

Shoalwater may reference or seek alignment with water, sustainability, disclosure, or stewardship frameworks.

Reference to a framework does not itself mean that Shoalwater or a particular project is certified, endorsed, accredited, assured, or approved by the organization responsible for that framework.

Environmental Outcomes

Green stormwater infrastructure can provide multiple environmental and community benefits. However, ecological outcomes are influenced by many interacting factors.

Shoalwater does not guarantee specific habitat, water-quality, flood-reduction, temperature, biodiversity, carbon, or ecosystem outcomes unless expressly addressed in a written project agreement with an identified methodology and scope.

Aggregation & Watershed Context

Shoalwater may aggregate information from multiple distributed projects to understand infrastructure activity or water performance at a portfolio, basin, or watershed level.

Aggregation does not mean that individual assets physically operate as a single engineered facility. It may instead describe the coordinated measurement, documentation, analysis, management, or representation of multiple distributed systems within a defined geographic or hydrologic context.

Property Ownership & Consent

Green infrastructure located on private property remains subject to applicable ownership rights, agreements, access requirements, maintenance responsibilities, and property-owner authorization.

Shoalwater's documentation or aggregation of a project does not, by itself, transfer ownership of the property or physical infrastructure to Shoalwater.

No Regulatory Substitution

Shoalwater's work is not intended to substitute for regulatory compliance, permitting, utility requirements, municipal obligations, engineering requirements, or legally required stormwater controls unless expressly authorized by the applicable authority.

Participation in a Shoalwater project does not independently satisfy a regulatory obligation.

Information Changes Over Time

Program rules, standards, rainfall datasets, site conditions, methodology, technology, and regulatory requirements may change.

Shoalwater may update its methodologies, assumptions, controls, and website materials as the work evolves. Users should rely on the version applicable to the relevant project and reporting period.
